Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team within our Aerospace Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting bids, overseeing and managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, expertise in project planning, customer and stakeholder management.
This role would suit a candidate who has proven project management experience and is looking to progress their career, moving into a fast-moving company with a worldwide customer base.
This role will be based in our Preston office with occasional travel to our clients’ sites as required. As part of our commitment to flexible working, employees can combine office work with remote working.

Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Programme Delivery Lead, manage a portfolio of Aerospace projects in accordance with company procedures.
- Support the Bid Phase: Prepare proposals, capture requirements, define scope, estimate project costs, and schedule.
- Prepare Project Documentation: Create Project Launch Packs, Project Management Plans, project schedules, budgets, and tracking registers.
- Manage Risk: Follow company procedures to identify and mitigate risks.
- Track and Monitor Progress: Ensure projects meet Time, Cost, and Quality standards.
- Manage Contract Changes: Ensure adherence to process for all allocated projects.
- Report Issues Early: Raise and escalate project issues, risks, and potential problems promptly.
- Prepare Financial Data: Update budgets, estimate completion costs, and manage customer invoicing.
- Manage Project Resources: Accurately represent project demand in the business forecasting system.
- Line Management: Manage project team responsibilities in conjunction with Capability business units.
- Customer Management: Build strong relationships and ensure clear communication.
- Stakeholder Management: Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Implement Best Practices: Support the implementation of best practice project management and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Recognised Project Management qualification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or APM certification preferred.
