Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major highways and infrastructure scheme in the Oxford-Didcot area, with project values ranging from £30m to £150m. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and technical expertise to ensure works are completed to programme, quality, and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall delivery of a large highways and civil engineering project.
  • Manage project planning, programming, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee major earthworks and diversion packages, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
  • Provide direction and support to site teams (Site Agents, Engineers, Subcontractors).
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and company procedures.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the client, stakeholders, and third parties.
  • Manage project reporting, progress updates, and risk registers.
  • Monitor financial performance, cost control, and contract compliance.
  • Drive a positive site culture with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on major highways/civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, highways, and diversion works.
  • Track record of delivering projects valued £30m+.
  • Excellent commercial, contractual, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to mobilise quickly and lead from the front.
