Job summary

ATB Group UK Ltd is seeking a capable Project Manager to lead resource planning, scheduling, and liaison with customers and operations. You will drive projects from tender receipt to completion, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality requirements while coordinating with stakeholders across engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires strong communication, organisational skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to delivering multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • GCSEs English and Maths at grade C or above.
  • HND or degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise resources, resolve issues, ensure on-time, on-budget projects.
  • Own project from receipt of tender to completion.
  • Act as main point of contact between customer and operations.
  • Proactively monitor progress and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate order entries and systems data.
  • Generate project programmes and report progress to customers.
  • Organise internal meetings and customer meetings as needed.
  • Resolve contractual disputes with customers.
  • Maintain Project Status Reports and flag budget deviations to managers.
  • Escalate perceived shortfalls to enable corrective action.

Job description

  • To be the main point of contact and the internal driver with responsibility for planning and organising resources, identifying and resolving issues to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to business requirements.
  • To fully comply with the company Management Systems, incorporating Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Requirements.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
  • Plan and organise resources, identify and resolve issues and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to business requirements.
  • Take ownership of the project from receipt of tender file from Sales staff through to project completion.
  • Act as the main focal point for all communication between the customer and operations.
  • Proactively monitor project progress, involving liaison with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all order entry forms and business systems entries are accurate, involving identifying and correcting any errors.
  • Generate Project programmes based on Manufacturing / Engineering information, monitor progress against the programme and report on progress in a timely manner and to the customers’ requirements.
  • Organise and attend internal meetings.
  • Organise and attend customer meetings as required, including for the purpose of reviewing progress and witness testing.
  • Resolve any contractual disputes that may arise with the customer.
  • Maintain Project Status Reports, including identifying and highlighting deviations from budget to relevant Managers.
  • Report on any perceived shortfall in product or services in a timely manner to enable corrective action to be taken.
  • Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by Line Manager, that are within the role holder’s ability.
Education / Qualification Requirements
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)
  • HND or Degree qualified in Engineering or similar applicable field
  • Project Management Qualification Prince 2 or similar
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
  • Relevant experience in a similar Project Management role.
  • A genuine interest in developing and progressing their career within Project Management.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the Oil & Gas and Defence industries.
  • A good understanding of Project Management principles and practices.
  • Previous experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • An understanding of Rotating Electrical Machines.
  • Experience working with MOD or nuclear contracts would be advantageous.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the genuine ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the drive to review business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and change.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

  • Holiday allowance starting at 25 days per annum plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time roles)
