Job summary

System Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the installation of professional kitchens in restaurants and hotels. The role covers design, procurement, site coordination and commissioning across Northern England and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have strong M&E knowledge and Health & Safety experience, with proven ability to manage surveys, risk assessments and vendor relations. Remote-based with regional travel and home-based flexibility.

Qualifications

• Background in project management for large-scale kitchen installations.
• Experience with equipment specs, drawings, and purchase orders.
• Strong site coordination and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of risk assessments and method statements.

Responsibilities

• Checking equipment specifications, design and services drawings, and equipment purchase orders.
• Approval of specialist contractors' manufacturing drawings.
• Handling of design or equipment variations and extras.
• Attendance at necessary site meetings (in person or via Teams/Zoom).
• Producing or coordinating risk assessments and method statements.
• Carrying out surveys and site dimensions, checking site access and progress before delivery of catering equipment.
• Supervising installation and commissioning of kitchen and servery equipment.
• Drawing up snags and defects lists and ensuring timely completion.
• Checking Job Costings and addressing variations with suppliers.

Established firm in the professional foodservice sector require an experienced Project Manager to join the team. You will be working on the installation of professional kitchens in restaurants and hotels etc. It is expected that anyone with this background will have a thorough knowledge of M&E as well as a solid working knowledge of Health and Safety.

Your role will involve;

• Checking of equipment specifications, design and services drawings, and equipment purchase orders.
• Approval of specialist contractors' manufacturing drawings.
• Handling of any design or equipment variations and extras.
• Attendance at all necessary site meetings, in person where needed or on Teams / Zoom
• Producing or coordination of relevant risk assessments and method statements.
• Carrying out surveys and site dimensions of all relevant working areas, checking site access and continually checking on progress of the construction site prior to delivery of any of the catering equipment package.
• Supervising the installation and commissioning of kitchen and servery equipment.
• Drawing up of snags & defects lists and ensuring a speedy and satisfactory completion.
• Detailed checking of Job Costings and addressing any variations with suppliers, reaching a rapid and satisfactory resolution.

The role will suit individuals currently working as Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Operations Manager, Commercial Manager, Senior Estimator and be living within a commutable distance of Northern England / Scottish Borders / Central Belt - Home Based - Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Carlisle, Dumfries, Selkirk, Berwick, Glasgow, Edinburgh or be willing to relocate.
