Job description

Job Title: Project Manager - Civil Engineering

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to oversee our civil engineering contract at Fawley refinery in Southampton. This senior role is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of all projects at the refinery, including civil engineering, facilities management, and reactive maintenance.

This is a full-time, site-based position, working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all ongoing projects at Fawley refinery
  • Manage a large team of 75+ personnel
  • Ensure excellent commercial performance and coordinate with the commercial team
  • Collaborate with the SHEQ team to maintain safety, environmental standards, and quality
  • Review upcoming work and assist the bid team in tender preparations
  • Participate in progress meetings and coordinate with the Planning team on project schedules
  • Conduct regular site visits to uphold safety and quality standards
  • Lead problem-solving and people management efforts, exemplifying best practices
  • Drive change and continuous improvement
  • Interface with clients through regular meetings, reporting on project progress and timelines
  • Represent Trant at union meetings and work collaboratively with unions
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure project management aligns with contractual obligations
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • BEng/HND in Civil Engineering (preferred)
  • CSCS certification
  • Experience delivering civil engineering projects in Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals (preferred)
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
