Job summary

Wates Property Services seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead retrofit programmes from our Milton Keynes office. The role focuses on SHDF-funded social housing projects, driving improvements in energy efficiency and performance.

You will coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure safety and quality standards across occupancy sites, with regular site travel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working at Project Manager level or above within the construction industry.
• Strong background delivering planned works, refurbishment or maintenance projects within social housing.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, programmes and subcontractors effectively.
• Experience leading projects through all phases of delivery.
• Strong commercial, operational and programme management skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day delivery of social housing retrofit projects.
• Coordinating operational teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Ensuring programmes are delivered in line with agreed timescales and budgets.
• Monitoring project performance, risks and client requirements.
• Supporting site teams to achieve quality, health & safety and customer service standards.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, residents and internal stakeholders.
• Managing project reporting, forecasts and programme updates.
• Driving continuous improvement across project delivery and operational performance.

Job description

WPS are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Retrofit team based from our Milton Keynes office (MK15 0DF). This is an excellent opportunity to lead the delivery of SHDF-funded retrofit programmes within occupied social housing, helping clients improve the energy efficiency, sustainability and performance of their housing stock. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running from day one. You'll already have experience operating at Project Manager level or above, with a strong understanding of planned works delivery within social housing environments. Retrofit experience is highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from professionals with a strong background in planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes.

• Leading the delivery of SHDF and retrofit programmes within social housing.
