Job description

Introduction

With a history spanning more than 100 years, the SAUTER Group is a worldwide market-leading specialist in developing, manufacturing, and delivering Building Management Solutions (BMS) for large commercial and residential properties.

Due to our continual success and growth in these markets, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver BMS projects at a commercial and operational level. Projects will include a mix of working with Tier 2 contractors at both SI and MSI level along with delivering smaller projects where you may be dealing directly with a single M&E contractor or end client.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering work packages safely, within budget, on time and to client specifications. This will be achieved through working with a dedicated project delivery team whereby you will be expected to manage performance and risk of the project.

Whilst most of these projects will be within London, there will be the need to support selected projects located elsewhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assume responsibility, planning and effective management of Building Management System projects, ensuring adherence with the contracted scope of works, company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Environmental Policy, Quality Assurance and Purchasing.
  • Manage all contractual aspects of the projects, including payments, variations, notices, extensions of time, claims for loss and expense and dispute resolution with assistance from the Project Director and Commercial team.
  • Establish and manage financial targets to achieve predetermined objectives, including regular reporting of financial status, risks and progress updates to the Project Director.
  • Provide technical support to both customers and engineering teams utilising resources from centralised departments, specialist suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and closeout documentation, to ensure accountability and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships whilst identifying and supporting new business opportunities within our existing customer base.
  • Ensure accurate billing of works, from preparing payment applications to final account negotiation and settlement.
  • Assess variations and support the team in maximising opportunities.

What we are looking for in an individual:

  • Experienced in a similar Project / Contract Management role, ideally coupled with strong technical knowledge in Building Management Systems.
  • Demonstrate experience in commercial, design, financial and project aspects of multi-disciplinary contracts.
  • Be a great leader, communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport and foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Have problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work flexible hours to accommodate project requirements.
  • Exhibit a high level of self-motivation, organisational ability, and dedication to meeting deadlines.
  • Be confident and have a commitment to providing a high quality, professional service.
  • Capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Encourage great team ethos
