Job Opportunity: Experienced Project Manager in Civil Engineering

Are you an experienced project manager with a technical understanding of enabling works and earthworks? Are you looking to join a company at the forefront of nuclear civil engineering? Do you excel at delivering exciting projects on time and within budget? If so, this role may be perfect for you!

The Opportunity

Due to expansion, our client seeks a project manager to oversee engineering work by the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) and manage engineering, procurement, and manufacturing of key contracts. The primary goal is to advance engineering and secure the supply chain to de-risk the Final Investment Decision (FID).

Your Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely delivery of engineering studies by the RD or key contractors, meeting project needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare post-FID contracts, including terms, conditions, and technical specifications.
  • Implement site-specific design changes into deliverables and contract specifications to enable robust pricing.
  • Manage internal and external interfaces to ensure coordinated design and delivery.
  • Engage early with stakeholders to identify obsolescence issues and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of procurement for specific contracts.
  • Promote lessons learned and knowledge sharing as standard practice.
  • Develop strategies aligned with the overall programme execution plan (PEP).
  • Define work scope and interfaces within the programme.
  • Drive contract and package activities to ensure safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and compliance with requirements.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to prepare manufacturing and construction contracts.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree and Chartered status in Project Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of project management principles and construction activities.
  • Experience managing major projects from concept to handover within complex, dynamic environments with high safety and environmental standards.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design and procurement teams to deliver on schedule.
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
Preferred Additional Experience

Previous experience delivering nuclear civil projects in the UK is advantageous.
