Job description

Project Manager

Christchurch, Dorset

Technical Project Manager salary: £57,000 – £65,250

Please note: only applicants with the full-time, permanent right to work in the UK will be considered.

Project Manager Overview

  • Lead complex engineering projects from customer kick-off through design, build, acceptance and warranty

  • Act as the principal customer interface across technical, commercial and delivery matters

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across systems, hardware, software, mechanical and production

  • Manage scope, schedule, risk, cost, margin and engineering lifecycle reviews

  • Work on bespoke test, automation and electromechanical equipment for regulated sectors

This Technical Project Manager role is with a specialist engineering business in Christchurch delivering complex, low-volume technical systems into regulated industries. The Technical Project Manager will own projects from internal handover and customer kick-off through design, manufacture, integration, FAT/SAT, commissioning and final closure.

This is not a project-administration role. The Technical Project Manager needs enough engineering understanding to work credibly with technical teams, challenge project maturity, manage customer expectations and ensure commercial, technical and delivery issues are addressed early.

The Project Manager role

As Technical Project Manager, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, production, procurement, quality and support functions while remaining the main day-to-day contact for the customer.

You’ll manage the full project baseline including scope, schedule, resources, risk, cost, margin and acceptance criteria, while ensuring projects move through the correct engineering lifecycle gates.
