Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee contract and office furniture projects from specification through to final installation. As our Project Manager, you will serve as the central point of contact for clients, designers, sales teams, and external contractors. Your main objective is to deliver high-quality workspace transformations on time, within scope, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the office furniture market, excellent logistics coordination skills, and a proven track record of managing on-site installation teams safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, installation schedules, and Gantt charts to map out timelines from product procurement to delivery.
  • Site Management & Safety: Conduct pre-installation site surveys and assessments. Produce necessary Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between internal sales consultants, interior designers, clients, main building contractors, and third-party logistics/installation crews.
  • Order & Inventory Verification: Cross-check manufactured goods and furniture specifications against final floor plans and approved orders to prevent mistakes or ordering gaps.
  • Logistics & Delivery Management: Secure necessary site permits, coordinate delivery windows, manage stock logistics, and oversee the removal, relocation, or eco-conscious disposal of legacy assets.
  • Financial Oversight: Track project expenses against the budget, monitoring changes to project scope or costs to protect margins.
  • Snagging & Handover: Manage the final handover process, resolving any product or installation snags quickly to achieve client sign-off and complete satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of project management experience, specifically within contract furniture, office fit-outs, or commercial interior design sectors.
  • Certifications: Formal project management training (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is highly desirable. A valid CSCS card (or local equivalent site safety certification) is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable interpreting CAD layout drawings, space plans, and technical furniture specifications. Proficient with project management scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet).
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the authority to lead on-site installation crews and presenting updates to clients.
  • Problem Solving: A natural ability to multitask, manage tight delivery constraints, and quickly solve complex layout or delivery challenges on-site.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to various commercial sites and client locations as required by project lifecycles.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary based on industry experience
  • Company pension scheme and healthcare benefits
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career progression
