Job summary

Pave Recruit is seeking a project manager to lead and manage complex programmes across water, environment, infrastructure and highways sectors in the UK. You will support multiple projects, nurture client relationships, and guide project teams to successful delivery.

The role demands technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to operate at consultant level with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and budget compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Select and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers; conduct due diligence.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with quality, safety and specifications; monitor performance.
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers and teams to enable high performance.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation and resolution strategies.

Job description

This company is a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy based in the UK. The role

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and managing complex projects and programmes within the water, environment, infrastructure, and highways sector. You will be responsible for supporting multiple projects, assisting in the successful execution, and fostering strong client relationships. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and client engagement skills. You will

  • Open to programme management by aligning project objectives with ensuring that individual projects contribute to the overall success of the programme.
  • Support in selecting and evaluating sub-contractors and suppliers. This includes conducting due diligence to identify the most suitable vendors, negotiating contracts, and monitoring their performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that sub-contractors adhere to quality standards, safety protocols, and project specifications. Regularly assess sub-contractor performance and address any issues or non-compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to Project Managers and project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Your expertise and leadership will help them navigate challenges and ensure project success.
  • Identify potential risks and issues that may affect project/programme outcomes. Develop risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies to proactively address these challenges and minimize their impact on project delivery.
