Job summary

NMS Recruit are partnering with a well-established main contractor to appoint a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to lead hotel refurbishments, new-build developments, extensions and heritage works across a varied portfolio in the UK.

The role requires proven leadership, delivery on time and budget, and the ability to coordinate with Pre-Construction, Commercial, HSEQ and senior management to drive projects from inception to handover.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in delivering complex construction projects.
• Experience across hotel refurbishments, new builds and heritage works.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Ability to coordinate with Pre-Construction, Commercial and HSEQ teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams and ensure safe delivery, quality, schedule and budget.
• Head schemes through full lifecycle from inception to handover.
• Prepare Contractors Proposals/Employers Requirements.
• Maintain and build client relationships throughout the project.
• Oversee operational management of live bids/schemes.
• Collaborate with Pre-Construction, Commercial, HSEQ and SMT/Board.
• Develop detailed programmes with Planning Department.
• Mentor staff and contribute to student programmes.

NMS Recruit are working with an established and growing main contractor with a strong reputation across the hotel, leisure, refurbishment and heritage sectors. Due to continued project wins and an expanding pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on construction professional who enjoys working on complex projects and wants exposure to a varied portfolio of hotel refurbishments, new‑build developments, extensions and heritage works.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the field & will have experience of:

• Leading teams and having a significant role in the safe delivery & culture of projects, achieving high quality work first time, on programme & budget
• Heading schemes for the full project life‑cycle - from inception through to project handover and customer care
• Preparation of Contractors Proposals/Employers Requirements
• Maintaining, continuing and building client relationships
• Leading all aspects of the Operational Management of live bids/schemes
• Working closely with the Pre‑Construction Department, Commercial Leads, HSEQ Team and members of the Senior Management Team/Board Directors
• Developing detailed programmes, alongside our Planning Department
• Supporting Employee development via mentoring/PDR process, active input into the Building Student Programme

Experience

• Effective leadership skills with the ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems and motivate the team
• Commercial & contractual awareness
• Attention to detail, planning and logical thinking, to meet demanding deadlines
• Excellent working knowledge of construction techniques, sequences, methodologies and processes
• Highly organised and methodical
