Job summary

Caval Ltd in the Greater Glasgow Area is seeking a Project Manager to lead site teams on new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects valued from £8m to £15m across commercial offices, industrial, healthcare and education sectors.

You will use Asta PowerProject or MS Projects to develop schedules, manage subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, control budgets, report progress to clients, and coordinate with design teams to deliver projects on time and to programme.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial office, industrial, healthcare and education projects.
• CSCS Card is required.
• SMSTS certification is required.
• First Aid certification is preferred.
• NEC4 contract experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of commercial projects, ensuring on-time delivery and quality.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors and staff, fostering collaboration.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, addressing delays to keep momentum.
• Act as primary client contact, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction.
• Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to maximise efficiency.

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Greater Glasgow Area

Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 + Car Allowance

Additional Packages:

Role Overview:

Project Manager leading the site team in delivering new build, refurbishment and fitout projects across commercial office, industrial, healthcare and education sectors valued from £8m to £15m.

Key Requirements:

• Using software such as Asta Power Project or MS Projects
• CSCS Card
• SMSTS
• First Aid
• NEC4 Contract Experience (Desirable)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of commercial projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Manage site teams, including subcontractors and direct staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Enforce site safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, addressing delays or disruptions to keep projects on track.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries, providing progress updates, and ensuring satisfaction with project delivery.
• Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment effectively to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Ensure all work meets or exceeds company and industry standards through regular inspections and snagging processes.
• Address on-site challenges promptly, making decisions to minimise disruption and maintain project momentum.
• Monitor budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure all variations are recorded and approved.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, safety audits, progress updates, and contractual changes.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and other consultants to resolve technical queries and ensure smooth project execution.
• Review subcontractor performance, ensure adherence to project specifications, and address any underperformance.
• Manage project completion, ensuring a smooth handover process and addressing any post-handover issues.
