Our client is a leading EW Systems business offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team.

Job Scope

Activities will focus on a small number of significant projects, where the Project Manager will assist with bids and take responsibility for all project aspects from contract receipt to final acceptance by the customer. Close liaison with Sales, Contracts, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Customer Services, Quality, and Accounting departments is required.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing customer-funded programmes allocated by the Head of Surveillance Systems Programmes.
• Liaising with customers to ensure the finished product meets requirements.
• Identifying and mitigating risks in programme execution.
• Coordinating with departments and sub-contractors to ensure efficient development, production, and timely delivery.
• Reporting progress and financial status monthly.
• Preparing financial data for presentation to senior management.
• Ensuring export compliance for delivered equipment.

Requirements

• Practical experience in a Project Management environment.
• Experience managing projects from conception to implementation.
• Ability to manage budgets and forecast spend.
• Strong customer care skills.
• Knowledge of Project Management techniques and processes.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK or overseas.
• Experience delivering presentations to senior management.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
• Financial and commercial awareness.
• Understanding of Lifecycle Management.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of Military/Naval contracts and processes.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in Project Management or equivalent experience.
• APM qualification is advantageous.
