Job summary

EET (Essar Energy Transition) at Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, Ellesmere Port, is seeking a Site Based Full Time Project Lead to drive major CAPEX initiatives. You will manage multiple disciplines, ensuring safe execution, schedule adherence and budget control across complex on-site work packages.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering major CAPEX projects in refining or energy settings.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction, PM, with chartered status advantageous.
• Proven track record coordinating brownfield modifications and utilities on operational sites.
• Strong cost forecasting, scheduling and change control processes.
• Leadership of EPC contractors and multi-disciplinary project teams.

You will:

• Lead the delivery of CAPEX projects and work packages from scope definition through to construction, completion and handover.


• Manage engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to achieve safe and successful project outcomes.


• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.


• Drive performance against key project objectives including safety, schedule, cost, quality and delivery readiness.


• Establish workfront readiness by securing permits, materials, access requirements and stakeholder approvals.


• Manage project interfaces across operational assets, engineering teams, contractors and wider business programmes.


• Take ownership of project controls, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, opportunity and change management.


• Provide visible leadership in both office and site environments, fostering a strong culture of safety, collaboration and accountability.


• Ensure compliance with all HSSE, process safety, governance and assurance requirements.


• Contribute to the successful delivery of future priority CAPEX projects across the business.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Significant experience delivering major CAPEX projects within refining, energy, power, hydrogen, chemicals or other high-hazard industrial environments.


• A degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline, with chartered status or a recognised project management qualification being advantageous.


• A proven track record of managing complex brownfield modifications, infrastructure projects, utilities and construction activities on operational sites.


• Understanding of project controls and can effectively manage cost forecasting, scheduling, risk management and change control processes.


• Leadership skills with experience managing EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.


• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of an organisation.


• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing contractor and supplier performance.


• Delivery-focused approach, and be decisive and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.


• The highest standards of HSSE and process safety, with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours when required.


• The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and committment to continuous improvement and project excellence.
