Location: Midlands/Yorkshire – Hybrid (with occasional travel to company office and project sites as required)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager (Major Projects) to join our clients team. You will support the Major Projects division, delivering high-quality projects across complex electrical infrastructure, including DNO/iDNO contestable works (33kV–132kV) and renewable energy balance of plant works (DC/LV up to 132kV).
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company in a professional and articulate manner, at all times, to all stakeholders.
- Ensure that all Special Projects being managed are delivered in a safe and responsible manner.
- Lead and manage change and variations.
- Ability to proactively identify and manage Risk.
- Write internal project specific RAMS where necessary.
- Manage internal and external project resources such as suppliers and subcontractors as necessary.
- Support the site manager where necessary and applicable.
- Review, record and manage all sub-contract Risk assessment and method statements (RAMS)
- Maintain and manage Site SHEQ documentation in line with company policy.
- Comply with project specific Monthly SHEQ Tours.
- Undertake and record Projects specific Quarterly SHEQ tours with a Senior Project Manager.
- Maintain Project specific documentation in line with the company’s BMS.
About You
- Proven leader and team player.
- Management and leadership experience of managing project/programme budgets and resources.
- Extensive management and leadership experience of managing complex high value (> £5M) projects and budgets within M&E/Utility Technical Construction Environment.
- BTEC, >= NVQ Level 4 qualification in engineering. construction and/or management, and/or, equivalent knowledge, training and experience
- >= 5 Years’ experience in technically complex electrical, or mechanical, customer and/or T&D networks with a good understanding of Control, Protection and Automation schemes.
- An excellent understanding of projects which would be classified as “notifiable” under the Construction, Design and Management Regulations 2015.
- Project management and delivery experience of complex high voltage customer electrical networks.
- Proven experience in delivering construction schemes under formal Construction Contracts such as NEC or JCT.
- High level of competence using Microsoft Project.
- APM/ PMI/ Prince Project Management certification, or equal equivalent, or working towards.
