Job summary

Circet Ireland & UK is seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end fibre optic network build projects across the UK, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. You will be accountable for planning, execution, and close coordination with clients and internal teams.

Based in East Kilbride, the role combines hands-on site leadership with proactive stakeholder management, ensuring safety, quality, and on-schedule delivery in a fast-paced telecoms environment.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years delivering complex infrastructure or fibre network builds in the UK.
  • Experience in telecoms, fibre or civil engineering environments essential.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of fibre network rollout projects – from planning and mobilisation to delivery and handover.
  • Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.
  • Oversee field operations, spending approximately 50% of your time on-site with delivery teams.
  • Manage internal resources, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Track project progress, resolve issues proactively, and maintain RAID logs.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Streetworks regulations, and company standards.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and manage project-related commercial responsibilities.
  • Monitor and control project budgets and forecasts – managing up to £10 million annual revenue.
  • Act as primary liaison with clients, local authorities, and internal departments.
  • Lead project meetings, provide regular updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Carry-out site inspections, ensure quality control, and conduct regular safety audits.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead the successful end-to-end delivery of fibre optic network build projects across the UK. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring projects are planned, executed, and closed efficiently, adhering to agreed timelines, budget, quality standards, and health and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional stakeholder management, and a hands‑on approach to delivery within a fast‑paced and evolving telecommunications infrastructure environment.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of experience delivering complex infrastructure or fibre network build projects
  • Background in telecoms, fibre, or civil engineering environments in the UK is essential
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects of varying sizes and complexity
  • Strong working knowledge of FTTx delivery, civil engineering processes, and construction best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficient in using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira)
  • A hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to thrive in fast‑paced settings
