Job summary

Suir Engineering Ltd is recruiting a Civil Project Manager for our Interconnect project in Drax, Yorkshire. You will lead construction activities, coordinate design interfaces, and maintain client relations from start to handover.

The role requires civil qualifications, apprenticeship or engineering qualification, and proven project leadership. Key responsibilities include staff planning with senior directors, on-site QA per design, and coordinating safety and training in weekly progress

Qualifications

• Trade qualification through Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification is required.
• Civil qualification and experience with project management are essential.
• Experience with NERS scheme and H&S qualifications such as IOHS Managing Safely or similar would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction projects from start to handover.
• Coordinate design works and interfaces with third party stakeholders.
• Maintain strong client relationships from start to handover as main on site ambassador.
• Arrange and chair handover from estimating to construction team.
• Staff planning with Project Director and Operations Director for project staffing.
• Ensure on-site QA audits are conducted per design plan.
• Lead weekly progress meetings with sub-contractors and address safety/training.
• Support continuous improvement culture within the project team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Managr to join Suir Engineering Ltd. The position will be on our Interconnect project in Drax, Yorkshire.

What you will be doing?

• Oversee Construction Projects from beginning to end.
• Co-ordination of all design works & Interfaces with all third party stakeholders
• Maintaining excellent working relationships with Client form project start to handover; acting as ambassador with Clients and all other stakeholders.
• Arrange and chair handover of project from estimating department to construction team.
• Liaise with Project Director and Operations Director in staffing of project and agree on a recruitment plan for staff and operatives particular to your staff.
• Ensure audits are carried out by the person responsible on site for Quality Control in accordance with the design plan (if applicable).
• Hold weekly progress meetings with sub-contractors and ensure that safety and training are discussed.
• Maintain excellent working relationships with the client from project start up to project completion.

Is this the job for me?

• Trade qualification through Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification.
• Civil qualification and expereince
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience for work undertaken under NERS scheme (additional training provided).
• Relevant H&S qualification, i.e. IOHS Managing Safely or similar.
• Proven experience in managing a project from scoping out project(s)' requirements and resources in line with strategic company objectives to the completion and delivery of the project.
• Proven experience in managing, coordinating, and developing staff.
• Experience in supporting a continuous improvement culture amongst the project team.
• Experience in High Voltage projects
• Awareness of BIM technologies where relevant.
• Awareness of Engineering processes and best practice.
