Job summary

Red Sky Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead multiple civils packages at Gatwick Airport in a live environment. You will oversee site teams, coordinate with clients and design teams, and ensure safety, progress, and quality across all works.

The role requires a strong civil engineering background and PM experience (or readiness to step up from Senior Site Manager). Airport/airside experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

Project Manager Civils

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Civils Project Manager to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a programme of infrastructure works at Gatwick Airport.

The role involves managing multiple civils packages in a live airport environment, including alterations and extensions to existing infrastructure, demolition and enabling works, external works, and upgrades to operational facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to delivery and completion.

• Oversee site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

• Manage programmes, resources and project progress.

• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.

• Coordinate surveys, demolition, enabling works and construction activities.

• Liaise with the client, design teams and other key stakeholders.

• Manage works within a live, operational airport environment.

• Ensure compliance with H&S, RAMS and site procedures.

• Work closely with commercial teams to monitor costs, variations and project performance.

Requirements

• Strong background within civil engineering and infrastructure.

• Previous experience operating at Project Manager level, although we would also consider an experienced Senior Site Manager who is ready to step up into a Project Manager position.

• Experience delivering civils, infrastructure, utilities, demolition or external works projects.

• Comfortable managing multiple work packages/projects simultaneously.

• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

• Airport/airside experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

• Relevant construction qualifications and certifications.

Airport Security Requirements

Due to the nature and location of the works, the successful candidate will be required to complete the necessary airport security clearance process. This will include a DBS check and satisfactory five-year employment/referencing history.
