Job summary

SII UK is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead customer-facing projects within aerospace and defence environments. You will establish governance, track milestones, and drive regular reviews with customers, while coordinating cross-functional teams to maintain accurate plans and reporting.

The role emphasizes strong communication, stakeholder management, and proactive risk handling, with the goal of delivering high value and trusted customer relationships in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience delivering customer-facing projects.
• Experience working within Aerospace & Defence environments.
• Demonstrable experience managing customer relationships and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience managing project risks, issues, actions, and dependencies.
• Strong background in project governance and delivery assurance.
• Familiarity with recognised project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective project governance frameworks.

• Ensure project documentation, plans, and reporting remain accurate and up to date.
• Support stakeholder management and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with engineers on current status of the project and build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders.
• Highly personable with the ability to build credibility and trust with customers.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Experience using project management tools for planning, tracking, and reporting.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive problem-solving and issue resolution capabilities.

Logistics

• Hybrid working model.
• Regular travel to customer sites in Stevenage, Portsmouth, and Bristol (typically monthly).
