Job summary

PSD Scotland is recruiting a Project Manager to join the team delivering operational projects, KSARs across NHS Scotland Assure, in a multi-disciplinary environment.

You will work with stakeholders across NHS Scotland and the independent sector to ensure patient safety within the healthcare-built environment, with hybrid working from Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The role requires professional client-focused approach and experience in project management.

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About the Organisation:

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

NHS Scotland Assure’s core purpose is to deliver and co-ordinate a diverse range of effective expert advice and support services in relation to national infection prevention control, construction, equipping and technical matters which support and improve health and well‑being services. Formed in 2021 it encompasses the previous services delivered by Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) and ARHAI Scotland, supplementing these with an integrated approach to improving quality in the healthcare environment and recognised as the Centre of Expertise across all related disciplines.

The Post:

As part of the continued development of NHSS Assure, we are looking for a Project Manager to join us. This role will support the delivery of an effective management and control mechanism for creation, approval and delivery of operational projects including Key Stage Assurance Reviews (KSARs) across NHS Scotland Assure. The PMO supports the wider NHS Scotland Assure services as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across NHS Scotland and the independent sector, to deliver services designed to ensure patient safety within the healthcare-built environment.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be professional with a client-focused approach, bring proven experience of project management and have worked with a range of methodologies and approaches to deliver projects to time and within scope. You will have a natural aptitude for solving problems as well as engaging and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should be comfortable working across different projects, collaborating and bringing together multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. Experience of working with projects that are part of a wider programme would be advantageous, as would line management skills.

In addition to experience in delivering projects in a multi‑disciplinary environment, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, oral & written communication skills and well‑developed organisational abilities.

Location and Working Pattern:

Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.

Currently hybrid working

Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
