Qualifications

As Project Manager, you work with client and internal stakeholders to deliver controlled and efficient implementation of new and existing client solutions and / or internal operational and regulatory changes across Target, to time, cost and quality objectives.

You will be responsible for leading project implementations, ensuring delivery of internal and external client projects and programmes to agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing project and bid work in line with Target’s Project Management and Quality Management Frameworks, ensuring all defined controls are adhered to.
  • Facilitation of project transition through stage gates throughout the project lifecycle, using appropriate documents and tools to deliver projects smoothly, maintaining good stakeholder relationships throughout.
  • Providing project progress and status reporting, highlighting risks / issues for escalation to steering and stakeholders.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging a lean operation in which customer and client requirements are appropriately balanced.
  • Understanding of different methodologies, working with clients to determine what would be most effective.
  • Understanding of all test types, and able to work with clients to develop effective test strategies.
  • Owning and running project reviews, ensuring lessons learnt and best practices are absorbed and integrated into business and project processes.
  • Effective management of project team resources, including the ability to create and manage resource profiles as per the resource management system.
  • Work with the Finance Partner and the PMO to ensure accurate control of costs, benefit realisation and financial reporting across all projects.
  • Ensure estimation aligns to project plans and budgets, with CRs and cost control feeding into the overall project P&L.
  • Ability to produce and manage project estimates and budgets and forecasts, including accurate reporting into monthly finance cycles.
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of customer context and operations to recognise and minimise the project impact to their business.

What we’re looking for!
  • Is proven to effectively plan and schedule projects of varying complexities, utilising accomplished time management and organisational skills.
  • Is able to manage projects / programmes to time, cost and quality measures using designated frameworks to support project quality.
  • Can understand and utilise the tools available to support effective Project Management (i.e. MS Project and Kaban).
  • Is a proficient problem solver, having demonstratable experience of being able to promptly identify and effectively manage Project risks and issues, using RAID.
  • Has effective communication and negotiation skills, managing conflict or escalations competently.
  • Has a recognised industry-standard accreditation in Project Management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, APM PMQ).
  • Is proactive, seeks to improve personal knowledge in wider context of leading projects and change.
  • Has a sound understanding of the financial servicing or BPO industries (desirable).
