Job summary

eg technology is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead planning, control and delivery of complex product design and development projects from concept to manufacture. You’ll work with clients and motivate multidisciplinary teams across software, electronics, mechanical engineering and human factors, ensuring regulatory standards are met and projects stay on budget and schedule.

This role emphasizes clear communication, risk management and stakeholder engagement to drive successful outcomes

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary product development projects.
  • Experience in engineering, product development, design or technical consultancy with direct client responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of regulated product development lifecycle (ISO 13485, from concept to verification/validation and manufacture).
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear actions and client communications.

About the role:

In this role, you’ll lead the planning, control and delivery of complex product design and development projects, taking them from early concept through to transition to manufacture.


You’ll work closely with clients and motivate multidisciplinary technical teams to drive project progress, balancing changing requirements, commercial priorities, budgets, timelines, quality and risk. By bringing structure, clarity and confidence to each project, you’ll help ensure successful outcomes for both our clients and the wider team.


Your impact:

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:



  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, bringing together expertise across software, electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial design and human factors.

  • Work closely with technical leads to ensure project deliverables meet agreed client requirements, quality expectations and applicable regulatory or industry standards.

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities, escalating where needed and driving practical resolutions.

  • Act as a principal point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and providing clear, timely updates on progress, decisions, risks and priorities.

  • Monitor project performance and support accurate forecasting, invoicing and resource planning.

  • Facilitate productive project meetings, decision-making and communication across clients, internal teams, suppliers and other stakeholders.


What you’ll bring:


  • Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary product development projects.

  • Experience within an engineering, product development, design or technical consultancy environment, with direct responsibility for client relationships and expectations.

  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle in a regulated environment ideally ISO 13485, from early concept and requirements to verification, validation, regulatory submission and transition to manufacture.

  • Confidence working with technical specialists from different disciplines, with the ability to translate complex information into clear actions and client communications.

  • Excellent organisation, communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to balance client needs, technical delivery, quality standards and project profitability.

  • Demonstrable ability to manage scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, resources, risks, issues and change.

  • A minimum 2.1 in a degree or equivalent professional experience in engineering, physical sciences, product design or another relevant technical discipline.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485 or comparable product-development quality frameworks

  • Familiarity with medical device risk management, ideally ISO 14971.

  • Experience managing medical software development projects, ideally within an IEC 62304 framework.

  • A recognised project management qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
