AMS Nuclear Engineering Ltd, Bridgwater, is seeking a Project Manager to lead day-to-day delivery of engineering projects in a growing SME environment. You will own scope, programme, cost, quality and risk, maintaining clear commercial position and client communications across interfaces.
Based at Bridgwater Gateway with travel to client and supplier sites, the role anchors 37.5 hours per week and requires hands-on delivery, practical controls and strong collaborative teamwork to translate
At AMS Nuclear Engineering Ltd, we consult, design, and build safety-critical electrical, control and instrumentation (EC&I) systems for the UK nuclear industry. Our work supports nuclear new build, power generation, decommissioning and defence – delivering projects from early feasibility through to detailed design, manufacture, testing, and commissioning.
We are proud to be a trusted delivery partner on some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile nuclear projects. Our clients rely on us for our technical rigour, dependable delivery and deep understanding of the environments in which we operate.
With project management, engineering and manufacturing teams all under one roof at our Bridgwater facility, we maintain clear lines of communication and a high level of collaboration. Our people see projects through from start to finish, giving them a strong sense of ownership and providing fast feedback loops that benefit clients and teams alike.
If you are looking to build a meaningful career in a growing company that values integrity, teamwork and delivering real impact, AMS Nuclear offers a great opportunity to grow with us.
As a Project Manager, you will have day-to-day accountability for the successful delivery of assigned engineering projects. You will lead the delivery activity, maintain control of scope, programme, cost, quality and risk, and protect AMS Nuclear’s commercial and contractual position.
This is a hands-on role in a growing SME. You will personally create the structure and momentum needed to deliver: understand the complete project outcome, maintain reliable controls, obtain information and decisions, lead communications and follow actions through. Project Coordinators may support you, but you remain accountable for the result.
You will bring demonstrable experience of personally delivering and controlling engineering or technical projects, including programme management, client communication and project financial information. A project-management qualification is welcome, but practical capability and the way you work matter just as much.
You will report to the Senior Project Manager and work closely with Project Coordinators, Engineering, Workshop, Supply Chain, Finance and Business Development. The role is based at Bridgwater Gateway, North Petherton, with travel to client and supplier sites as required. The contracted working week is 37.5 hours.
