Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Project Manager for a 12-month+ contract in Bournemouth within the water sector. The role carries a daily rate of up to £600 p/d (DOE) Inside IR35/Umbrella PAYE, on a major AMP8 framework project worth up to £120m.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage design, procurement, safety compliance, and subcontract relationships, delivering time, cost and quality targets while ensuring top safety standards.

Qualifications

• PM with multi-disciplinary design and construction project delivery experience.
• Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering discipline.
• Excellent oral and written communication with clients, stakeholders and end users.
• Delivery-driven with ability to set targets and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in project delivery and risk management.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and administration.
• CDM and health & safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams to maintain high safety standards and monitor design, procurement, and installation.
• Chair and document meetings covering site progress, safety, design and subcontracting.
• Support commercial team in subcontract package selection and procurement.
• Motivate and support site teams and subcontractors to hit targets and delivery milestones.

Are you a skilled Project Manager with a strong background in the UK water sector? Join a team on the AMP8 Bournemouth Water Framework, driving transformation across one of Bournemouth Water's Non-infrastructure clean Flagship Projects. This is a chance to be a key player in a leading contractor's project team, contributing to the success of a high-value project worth up to £120m.

Essential:

• Project Management experiencein managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline.
• Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
• Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
• Experience in project delivery
• Strategic, operational, technical and management skills
• Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC, with ability to negotiate and administer
• Risk & Opportunity Management experience
• Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Safety Advocacy:

• Lead site teams to maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring safety is the top priority.
• Implement robust management and monitoring procedures for design, procurement, and installation.
• Champion Health & Safety compliance, collaborating closely with the Health & Safety Team.

2. Commercial and Programme Management:

• Manage SHEQ and CDM compliance, taking responsibility for the commercial and programmatic aspects of schemes.
• Chair and document various meetings, covering site progress, safety, design, and sub-contract meetings.
• Support the commercial team in sub-contract package selection and procurement.

3. Project Delivery and Team Motivation:

• Motivate and support site teams and sub-contractors to achieve targets and objectives.
• Resolve complex issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring smooth project delivery.
• Provide development opportunities through delegation and support training initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant industry qualification preferred (e.g., ONC, HNC, Degree).
• Technical knowledge of Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Water & Waste Water Operations.
• Strong planning awareness and abilities.
• First Aid at work certification.
