VolkerLaser seeks a Project Manager or Senior Site Agent to lead civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You’ll join a HS2 slipforming tunnel project in Birmingham for about six months, then progress to major projects across the UK with potential in Europe.

The role is site-based with 12-hour rotating shifts, Monday to Saturday one week and Monday to Friday the next, emphasising safety, quality and on-time delivery.

About us

VolkerLaser repairs, strengthens and waterproofs concrete and steel structures, offering a tailored package of specialist works to clients across the UK. Our structural solutions include bridge deck waterproofing, expansion joints, concrete slipforming, concrete repair and cathodic protection works, steel repair and strengthening work, carbon fibre and temporary works, jacking and bearing replacement. About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager or an ambitious Senior Site Agent looking to take the next step in their career with PJD, part of VolkerLaser.

You’ll initially join a specialist HS2 slipforming tunnel project in Birmingham for approximately six months before progressing onto major infrastructure projects across the UK, with potential opportunities in Europe.

We’re looking for a motivated leader with experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects, strong stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to safety, quality and programme delivery.

The role is site-based and operates on a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour days, working Monday to Saturday one week and Monday to Friday the next.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall accountability for safe, compliant and successful project delivery
• Set project strategy, plans, programmes and delivery standards

About you

• Technical qualification (example Degree in civil engineering or HND)
• Experience within concrete and steel repair
• Somer exposure on blasting and painting contracts
• Proven technical and project management abilities
• Strong organisational and management skills
• Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations
• Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work
• Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment

• Flexibility to travel and work nationwide is essential.
