Bachy Soletanche Limited, a world leading geotechnical contractor, seeks a Project Manager to lead complex projects from initiation to completion. You will drive safety, quality and client satisfaction while coordinating with site teams, suppliers and the commercial group to deliver on time and within budget.
The role demands strong leadership, practical geotechnical knowledge and a collaborative approach to drive continuous improvement and sustainable outcomes across Northern Division projects.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the comprehensive management of projects from initiation to completion. The PM ensures adherence to company procedures and provides regular project updates to the Divisional Operations Manager (DOM). Key responsibilities include delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining net margins and high client satisfaction. The PM ensures compliance with work procedures and collaborates with BSL Site Supervisors to maintain safe and efficient site operations. Immediate escalation to the DOM is required if project performance does not meet expectations.
Project Initiation and Planning: − Attend final tender meetings with the DOM and Commercial team to clarify scope and responsibilities. − Ensure project documents, scope, value, and other requirements align with the quotation. − Lead the project handover from the estimator to the Delivery Team.
Financial Management: − Prepare and manage the project budget. − Conduct Weekly and Monthly Cost/Value Reviews. − Develop and implement site bonus schemes.
Resource Coordination: − Coordinate with the DOM to assign the correct plant and personnel. − Conduct pre-site visits with the Supervisor and Engineer (if assigned) to ensure readiness. − Assist the supervisor with mobilisation lists and advise the buying department on long-lead items. − Organise plant requirements and manage plant costs and damages.
Sub-Contractor and Materials Management: − Ensure concrete/grout and reinforcement procurement, including necessary trials. − Organise sub-contractors for various tasks as needed. − Coordinate with purchasing on material orders.
Client Communication and Documentation: − Maintain clear and effective communication with the client. − Ensure project plans and coordination align with the scope of works. − Produce and manage project-specific documents including RAMS/WPP, Programmes, Quality Plans, ITPs, Lift Plans, task briefs, and reports.
Project Supervision and Management: − Oversee project works to ensure they are performed safely, efficiently, and to specifications. − Keep clients informed on site works and manage any changes in costs, timelines, or additional work. − Monitor weekly costs to ensure budget compliance and production efficiency. − Produce weekly reports for the commercial team and address any EWNs, CEs, or Quotations with the Client.
Contractual Management − Understand the contractual requirement and administer the contract with the support of Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
Quality and Leadership Management: − Issue quality records and reports, manage NCRs, and monitor test cube results. − Complete close-out reports, REX reports, O&M, As-builts, and financial summaries at project completion. − Foster teamwork and cohesion among staff. − Lead safety and environmental performance initiatives. − Address HiPOs, Incident Reports, and Accident reports promptly with SHEQ department support.
Innovation and Sustainability: − Participate in and lead developments in alternative technologies and materials to support environmental goals.
