Job summary

AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited in Stevenage offers a 12-month internship in Space Systems within the Programme & Project Management family. You will support the management of space programmes using PMO processes, help create project plans and schedules, and assist with risk and opportunity management while coordinating with stakeholders.

The role is open to undergraduates, requires comfort with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, and invites proactive collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in core productivity tools (Google Workspace and Microsoft Office).
• Strong collaborative mindset and proactive initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of space programmes and projects using standard PMO processes, methods, and tools.
• Analyze and integrate quantitative and qualitative project data to support key decision-making and reporting.
• Assist in creating project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
• Contribute to risk and opportunity management, mitigation planning, and lessons learned capture.
• Track milestone performance, support phase reviews, and enable effective stakeholder communication.

About Us:

Space Systems delivers some of Airbus’s most ambitious projects, including OneSat and Eurostar NEO. To succeed in this fast-paced environment, our Project Management Office drives key processes across all project phases.

These projects offer a challenging, dynamic, and high paced environment where a strong Project Management Team is key to success.

Within this team and in order to meet these challenges, the Project Management Office contributes key roles to support the project team to proactively drive the different Project Management processes.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
