Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space Limited in Portsmouth invites you to join a 12-month internship within the Cross Program Organisation for telecoms. You will work on ongoing and bid activity, supporting live projects and gaining exposure to supply chain and procurement processes.

You will collaborate with internal suppliers to support equipment delivery to our AIT facility and interact with stakeholders across Portsmouth, Stevenage and Toulouse.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in a relevant engineering or management field.
• Team player with strong stakeholder relationship skills.
• Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

About us

This role sits within the Cross Program Organisation for telecoms.

We cover a wide range of topics that touch multiple projects within Telecoms business unit including the following;

• Bids and proposals;
• Management of Internal Suppliers;
• Master Schedule Management;
• Stock Management;
• Cross Program Improvement Initiatives;
• Cross Program Prioritisation.

What you will be doing

Within this role you will get exposure to all ongoing and future telecoms programs, you will be supporting live projects and on-going bid activity.

You will get to work with our key internal suppliers and support the delivery of equipment into our AIT facility.

You will get the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the business and gain a working knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes and procedures. Within both the Payload and Mechanical Platform scope.

You will support improvement initiatives across a range of topics, from competitivity to streamlining of processes.

You will be working with team members in Portsmouth, Stevenage, and Toulouse.

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Studying for a degree in Engineering, Business Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Project Management or Project Management Office PMO;
• Team player:
• Able to manage and build relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal to Airbus Defence and Space and with our supply base;
• Able to manage your time efficiently and prioritise work where needed;
• Have a desire to learn new skills and embrace change.

This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
