Job summary

AEPartners seeks a Civil Project Leader to drive the design of water and wastewater projects from outline to handover. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams and ensure designs meet programme, budget and quality targets.

Joining a dynamic design-and-build environment, you will mentor junior colleagues and maintain strong client relations while benefiting from flexible working from home, office and site.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in civil engineering.
• Incorporated member of engineering institution.
• Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of Designer/Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists, ensuring on programme, within budget and to required quality.
• Build relationships with clients' project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a one-team approach.
• Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues.

AEPartners are working with a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise with the contracting experience to deliver award winning projects. They have successfully extended their contract with Thames Water for an additional five years. As the largest water and wastewater provider in the UK, Thames Water serves 15 million customers throughout London and the Thames Valley. This extension will carry the current agreement through to the end of AMP8 in March 2030. Our client is delivering work on three frameworks in the region, which sees us undertake a varied programme of water and wastewater non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects to improve the network.

What does a Civil Project Leader do day to day?

• Working as part of a "project triangle" alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery are considered throughout.
• Leading the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from the initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning, and handover
• Coordinating the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by each framework and industry specifications
• Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate
• Building positive relationships with the clients' project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one-team" approach

What you'll need:

• Accredited Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Incorporated Member of Engineering Institution.
• Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
