Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include managing the Smoking Cessation project budget, resource allocation, and scheduling to meet KPIs. The postholder will oversee quality assurance, monitor project progress, address issues, and contribute to quarterly reporting. Additional duties include staff performance management, client feedback analysis, chairing meetings, presenting reports to the Portfolio Delivery Board, and working with specialist leads to ensure high-quality service delivery. A solution-focused approach to project planning and service development is essential.

ABL Health have been commissioned by Bolton Council to deliver a high quality and tobacco control service across Bolton, as part of the Health Improvement and Weight Management Service (Your Health Bolton). It seeks to work collaboratively with communities to support the transformation of services for the local population.

Role Purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a specific area of the wider Your Health Bolton Service. ABL are seeking a dynamic and inspirational leader and manager who will be bold and proactive, developing a new team which will share the vison and aspirations of the service.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead the planning and implementation of the Smoking Cessation services across Bolton.
- Drive, enhance and implement the vision of ABL Smoking Cessation service amongst staff, partners and stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate staff to facilitate service delivery
- Leading a positive partnership and collaborative approach with stakeholders across your area
- Ensure high quality delivery and governance within the service
- Contract performance, reporting and budget management.
The Project Lead will provide operational leadership and management with overall responsibility and accountability for delivering project outputs and outcomes of the service across Bolton. The post holder will lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that delivery outcomes are achieved.
The post holder will ensure services are delivered and developed to provide high quality, safe and effective packages of support that respond to the needs of the client and have a positive impact on the wider community in accordance with contractual obligations and the philosophy of ABL.
The post holder, along with the Head of Service and key stakeholders, will play a key part in integrating the service into the wider behaviour change programme across Bolton.
Main Duties And Responsibilities:
- Line manage a delivery team
- Work with stakeholders, commissioners, local residents and service delivery team to drive continuous service improvement and innovation under the ABL Way service improvement framework
- Manage the Smoking Cessation project budget, supported by the Head of Service
- Build and maintain excellent relationship with partners and stakeholder within the specified districts within Bolton
- Manage project resource allocation (e.g. equipment etc.)
- Plan and schedule timelines
- Work to align delivery timetables for achieving KPIs and meeting need across the footprints
- Track project deliverables and outcomes according to KPIs
- Contribute to quarterly report with Head of Service for Bolton
- Quality assurance for delivery staff, data and record keeping with support from the Professional Smoking Cessation Lead
- Contribute to integrated governance procedures including clinical governance
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project, to present reports defining progress, problems and solutions
- Performance management of appropriate staff
- Contribute to CPD opportunities within ABL
- Analyse and report client feedback and delegate necessary service development actions
- Chair team meetings and attend service development meetings
- Present performance reports pertaining to activity, plan delivery and financial spend to the Portfolio Delivery Board
- Work closely with specialist leads (physical activity, nutrition and healthy weight, smoking, alcohol) embedding recommendations and support for continued governance and quality of delivery for your designated team
- Collect data, evaluate trends and prepare draft of report to the Head of Service as required
- Take a solution focused approach to project planning and address
