Job summary

BJF Group is seeking a Project Fabric Engineer to join their expanding team. Qualifications

  • Experience in various building fabric repairs including painting & decorating, bricklaying, and carpentry.
  • Basic plumbing skills and MEWP/PASMA qualifications are preferable.
  • Competent to assess repairs and complete works with minimal guidance.

  • Initiate proactive safety measures and maintain compliance with health and safety standards.

Here at BJF, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our exciting and expanding construction biased business, where you can help support the Facilities Management Team as a Fabric Engineer.

Position

Joining a friendly and hard-working projects team, the successful applicant will work as part of the Southwest Fabric project team to deliver project works on a day-to-day basis for minor refurbishments to clients’ properties upon the MOD Estates within the Wiltshire area.

Responsibilities Of The Role

  • To ensure that the site is kept in good decorative order internally and externally - and to give specification and ensure timely completion of project works.
  • Working within all Health and Safety criteria and processes relevant to work activities.
  • Show a proactive approach to Health & safety in the work environment and take the necessary steps to ensure risks are mitigated.
  • Maintain high standards of customer care in a client-facing role
  • Be flexible and undertake other reasonable duties to accommodate operational requirements

Requirements

What you'll bring

To be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate a mix of the following:

  • Multitask fabrication technician experience - general building fabric repair, painting & decorating, bricklaying, slabbing, fencing, concreting, tiling and plastering, kitchen installations
  • Timber and UVPC door and window Installations and general carpentry repairs
  • Basic plumbing skills
  • MEWP and PASMA qualified preferable
  • City and Guilds qualification in a relevant field
  • Competent to assess repairs required with ability to complete works with minimal guidance
