Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes in the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and costed accurately.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick Head office occasionally.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Control and manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level.
  • Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to aid the preparation of detailed cost estimates.
  • Minimize the cost of selling and response time through standard processes and pricing tools where appropriate.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals at cost reviews.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc., to gather necessary information.

Who you are:

You will bring proven experience in a similar estimating role, with a strong foundation in cost modelling and analysis. As an expert Excel user, you’ll combine technical proficiency with exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills to drive accurate and informed decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the Transport / Utilities / Telecoms / Construction industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams.
  • Expert user of Excel.
  • Excellent mathematical ability.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments.
  • Full clean driving license with flexibility to be in HQ as required.
