Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting into the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes for the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and costed accurately.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick Head office on occasion.

What you’ll do:

1. Support production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner
2. Control and management of the estimating process at bid, project or scheme level
3. Challenging costs estimates produced by the SMEs in Delivery and Engineering
4. Review project specifications, drawings and other documentation to aid preparation of detailed cost estimates
5. Minimise the cost of selling and speed of response through maximum use of standard processes and price tools where appropriate
6. Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals at cost reviews
7. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules
8. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits etc to gather necessary information

Who you are:

You will bring proven experience in a similar estimating role, with a strong foundation in cost modelling and analysis. As an expert Excel user, you’ll combine technical proficiency with exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills to drive accurate and informed decision-making.

Key Requirements:

1. Proven experience gained in the Transport / Utilities / Telecoms / Construction (or similar) industries, providing Estimating services in a large project or multiple workstream environment
2. Expert user of Excel
3. Excellent mathematical ability
4. Competent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills, within office, site and client/sub-contractor environments
5. Full clean driving licence with flexibility to be in HQ as and when required
