Job summary

Morgan Hunt is supporting a well established engineering consultancy in Glasgow to recruit a Project Engineer. You will be involved from concept through to construction, working on diverse building structures and contributing to design meetings with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and about four years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of British Standards/Eurocodes and software such as TeklaSD and Tedds.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Good knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry and/or timber structures.
• Experience producing structural calculations and reports.
• Experience using structural analysis/design software (TeklaSD, Tedds).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs from concept to detailed design and construction.
• Work on building structures across multiple materials.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.

Morgan Hunt are working with a well established engineering consultancy to recruit a Project Engineer to join their Glasgow office. The consultancy has a strong reputation of delivering technically excellent engineering projects across Scotland. The work spans a wide range of sectors, including residential, commercial, healthcare, retail, industrial and, in particular, education.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative consultancy. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction and completion.

Responsibilities

• Developing structural engineering designs from concept through to detailed design and construction
• Working on a variety of building structures - (steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber etc)
• Preparing structural calculations, specifications, reports and technical information
• Producing and reviewing engineering drawings and 3D models
• Working collaboratively with technicians, engineers, contractors and other members of the design team
• Contributing to multidisciplinary design meetings and project discussions
• Identifying design risks and developing solutions
• Assisting with site inspections
• Supporting project delivery to programme, budget and the required technical standards

What You Offer:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Roughly 4 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering consultancy
