Job summary

Mitie Group plc is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join our on-site team in Bristol. You will own on-site activities, ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high technical and quality standards, potentially across multiple sites or a major project.

The role requires strong site experience, ability to read technical drawings, supervise subcontractors, manage safety, and support planning, budgeting, and commissioning of Fire, Life Safety, and Security systems.

Qualifications

• Site-based role requiring strong on-site delivery and safety focus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Experience supervising teams and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of Fire, Life Safety and Security systems.
• Strong planning and budgeting capabilities.
• Willingness to participate in training and development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to manage safety risks.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure high performance.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote safety culture.
• Maintain site records and daily activity reports.
• Review drawings for design, safety and budget alignment.
• Support project schedules and budgets to targets.
• Install and commission Fire, Life Safety, and Security systems.
• Provide training to end users and mentor junior staff.
• Report progress and risks to Project Manager.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
