Job summary

E.ON Control Solutions Ltd is seeking a skilled project engineer to support major projects, producing design docs, coordinating on-site activities, and handing over projects to clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of smaller scale projects and ensure delivery to program.
• Back up software and strategy files for all systems/sites.
• Ensure compliance with H&S and CDM, producing required documents.
• Liaise with sub-contract engineers and clients about design changes.
• Build and maintain strong client relations.
• Attend site commissioning/progress meetings as required.
• Carry out field checks, terminations, wiring mods and panel work.
• Create and manage a project program of works.
• Commission DDC control systems and update drawings and operation descriptions.
• Procure control items and size valves as needed.
• Ensure all AS COMMISSIONED information is updated on the server.
• Witnessing packs signed off, handover to client.
• Carry out site surveys and produce detailed reports with recommendations.
• Attend training and meetings; follow method statements and risk assessments.
• Enforce H&S on day-to-day basis; update risk assessments as needed.
• Adhere to ISO and Health & Safety policies.
• Provide technical support to team members.
• Produce and amend technical submittals (operations, equipment schedules, manuals).
• Prepare IO wiring schedules for panel designer and review designs.

Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out project engineering and project management support on major projects. The tasks will vary between projects but will include the production of design documentation, on-site co-ordination and planning, on-site commissioning and project handover.

You will offer technical support and knowledge to engineers and project managers, including sharing of best practice. You will be expected to work well as part of a commissioning team but also work efficiently on your own as required.

You may be responsible for supervising junior engineers, ensuring they work effectively and safely whilst on site. You will be part of the project team; therefore, the sharing of technical knowledge with other engineers is encouraged whilst obtaining support from the team when necessary.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall management of smaller scale projects and ensuring the projects are delivered in line with the program of works and intended design
• Responsible for making backups of software and strategy files as required for all associated systems/sites
• Ensure compliance with company H&S and CDM requirements, including production of relevant documentation.
• To liaise with sub-contract engineers and clients and report back with any design or engineering changes or issues
• Responsible for building and maintaining strong client relations
• Responsible for attending site-based commissioning/progress meetings as required.
• Responsible for carrying out field point-to-point checks, terminations, panel and wiring mods where required
• Create & manage a project program of works
• Responsible for commissioning various DDC control systems (TREND, Tridium or others as required), completing wiring and commissioning schedules, updating control panel drawings and the description of operation in the commissioning file
• Responsible for procurement of control items, sizing control valves etc.
• Ensure that all ‘AS COMMISSIONED’ information is collated and updated on the server
• Ensure witnessing packs are appropriately signed off
• Responsible for diligent demonstration and handover to client on projects
• Carry out site surveys as required and produce fully detailed reports complete with recommendations
• Attend training courses and meetings as required
• Ensure works are carried out within the project method statement and risk assessments and amend where necessary with any required deviation
• Enforce H & S interests of the company on a day-to-day basis for all employees and sub-contractors, create and enforce method statements and risk assessments and update when necessary
• Adhere to all client and company ISO, Health & Safety procedures, and policies
• Provide technical support to team members
• Be able to produce, submit and amend technical submittals for ECS projects including but not limited to the following as required:
• Description of operations
• Equipment schedules
• Operating and Maintenance manuals
• Be able to produce IO wiring schedules to be sent to the panel designer and then review the design once received from panel shop
• Be able to produce RFI's and tech subs to be sent to the client
• Any other duties deemed necessary by the directors/managers of the business

• Ability to correctly interpret and alter existing control strategy in BMS systems
• Knowledgeable with HVAC systems
• Electrically Competent
• Strong PC skills (Word and Excel)

• Knowledge sharing with commissioning engineers
