Galliford Try is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join its Environment team in the Nottinghamshire area, working on the Severn Trent AMP 8 Water Framework. The role is primarily site-based with occasional hybrid working and travel to offices when required.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary designers and project engineers, manage pre-construction through to construction, ensure NEC4 compliance, and uphold QA/H&S standards while delivering programmes on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the Project Delivery team, working with multi-discipline designers and engineers.

  • Coordinate internal resources and subcontractors through all project phases.
  • Act as a bridge between the Client, stakeholders, and the supply chain with clear communications.

Civil Project Engineer – Environment

Nottinghamshire

An opportunity has arisen for a Civil Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

You will work on our Severn Trent AMP 8 Water Framework within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Wastewater Treatment and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Annesley area as the team delivering these schemes works across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. The expectation is for you to be site based with occasional hybrid working and travel to company offices when required.

What You Will Be Doing

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer to join our collaborative team on AMP 8 Severn Trent.

  • Be an integral part of our Project Delivery team, working alongside internal and external multi-discipline designers and Project Engineers (Civils, Process, Structural, Electrical & Mechanical Design).
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to promote integrated and efficient project delivery.
  • Lead on producing operational construction stage documentation and obtain necessary external permits and approvals to start construction.
  • Engage and manage internal resources and sub-contractors through pre-construction, site investigation, design, and construction phases.
  • Act as a vital link between the Client, key third-party stakeholders, and the supply chain, ensuring clear communication and effective programming of works.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, and a positive, solutions‑focused approach.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards with transparency and integrity.
  • Participate in design, progress, and site meetings, supporting team development through mentoring and coaching.
  • Contribute to programme reviews, cost management, and compliance with our delivery processes and procedures using Common Data Environments (CDE).
