Job summary

Axium Process is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Swansea-based team. You will design process flow diagrams, specify instrumentation, and manage projects from conception through commissioning, often on-site with customers.

The role requires a degree in engineering or a scientific discipline, plus experience in process manufacturing and in designing process equipment. Travel within the UK (and rarely overseas) and a valid driving licence are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Experience in process manufacturing and in designing and specifying process equipment.
  • Knowledge of thermo/fluid dynamics, instrumentation and control (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong documentation, administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Design process flow diagrams, defining instrumentation and control requirements.
  • Source and procure fluid handling equipment and materials for plant construction.
  • Supervise workshop-based plant construction and liaise with workshop personnel.
  • Manage projects from inception to final acceptance, including design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning—often on-site with customers.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety-related studies.
  • Collaborate with customers throughout project progress.
  • Conduct pilot plant trials at Swansea facility and customer sites.
  • Prepare detailed trial reports.
  • Travel regularly within the UK and occasionally overseas.

About You – Knowledge & Experience

We are looking for a motivated engineer with:

  • A degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
