Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in Mechanical and Electrical industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience in project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensured compliance with Health and Safety and managed commissioning of projects.
  • Work on-site to maintain operational capacity levels.

Job description

  • Managed and delivered a portfolio of mechanical, electrical, civil, control, and instrumentation projects valued at up to £5 million annually.
  • Worked closely with Thames Water operations, including Process Improvement Engineers and our contractor supply chain, to scope, specify, and cost-quality solutions that are fit for purpose and provide value for money.
  • Ability to think quickly, decisively, challenge, and develop interim reactive solutions for maintenance issues that must be resolved promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements, including the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
  • Oversee the commissioning and handover of projects to the operational client.
  • Ensure completion of training and availability of documents such as test certificates and constructed drawings for handover.
  • Location: Thames Valley and the home counties.
  • Work hours: 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, on-site 5 days a week.

Must be a driver with access to a car for site travel.

What you should bring to the role

  • Hold an HNC/HND or a degree in Engineering, or possess strong hands-on experience in the Mechanical and Electrical industry.
  • Enjoy being proactive on-site to ensure operational capacity levels.
  • Be technically and commercially astute, with a proven engineering background.
  • Ability to investigate, scope, and specify engineering solutions for plant modernization and refurbishment.

  • Salary: £41,000 - £55,000 per annum.
  • Car Allowance: £4,500 per annum.
  • Holiday: 26 days, increasing to 30 with service, plus bank holidays.
  • Pension: Contributory, up to 12% with 2x employee contribution.
