Project Engineer (6 month FTC)

W Talent is proud to be supporting a market‑leading engineering organisation in their search for an experienced Project Engineer to join their growing team based in Redditch.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you'll take ownership of engineering projects from concept to completion driving performance, quality, and delivery. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects meet business goals, exceed stakeholder expectations, and comply with all industry and regulatory standards, all while achieving results on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to completion, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to meet key milestones.
• Manage budgets, track costs, and report on project performance.
• Oversee delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align on requirements and expectations.
• Review technical designs to ensure compliance with engineering standards and CDM 2015 regulations.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and provide regular progress updates.
• Maintain clear documentation and encourage knowledge sharing across teams.
• Drive continuous improvement and best practice in all project activities.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and all company Health & Safety policies.
• Promote safe working practices and a strong safety culture.
• Report any incidents, hazards, or near misses promptly.
• Support accident investigations and help drive continual safety improvements.
• Lead by example to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

Key Requirements

Experience

• Significant engineering experience.
• Extensive experience in capital expenditure design, development, and implementation projects.
• Proven track record of managing at least three engineering projects under CDM 2015 regulations.
• Advanced project management software proficiency.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget preparation, cost control, and P&L management.
