Anglian Water Group is seeking an IOS Project Engineer in Norwich to lead engineering efforts on a major 5-year programme, ensuring compliance with governance standards and health & safety. You will work with the Project Manager and delivery teams to manage contracts and risk, delivering sustainable outcomes for customers.

Role requires strong leadership, site assurance experience and knowledge of NEC contracts, with a full UK driving licence and relevant education.

Qualifications

• Education to A level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of H&S legislation and CDM Regulation.
• Water Industry Experience and NEC contracts awareness.

IOS Project Engineer

Location: Norwich

Contract: Permanent/Full time

Salary: circa £47,345

Who are we?

The Integrated Operational Solution contract is a 5-year programme valued at approximately £444 million, delivering specialist water and water recycling projects. This role involves managing projects under the NEC3 contract suite, with a focus on Option E (Pre-Contract Planning) and Option A (Priced Contract with Activity Schedule).

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and delivery teams to ensure robust management of contractual obligations and compliance with Anglian Water’s governance standards. The role is employed by Anglian Water and involves working in partnership with framework partners Barhale, Kier, and MGroup.

What will you be doing as our Project Engineer

You will be responsible for providing engineering leadership and technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are developed, designed, constructed and commissioned in accordance with business requirements, regulatory obligations, governance standards and health & safety expectations. The role works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and delivery partners to develop solutions, manage risk, assure technical compliance and deliver sustainable business outcomes that provide value to customers and the business.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours

• Scope technical solutions that meet operational and business needs.
• Challenge data, assumptions, and drivers to identify the best value solution.
• Lead Delivery Assurance meetings across the project lifecycle.
• Review project outputs to ensure governance and compliance requirements are met.
• Proactively identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with contractors, designers, operational teams, and stakeholders.
• Undertake site assurance activities during construction and commissioning.
• Provide engineering expertise throughout delivery and own technical issues through to resolution.
• Education to A level of equivalent
• Appropriate engineering qualifications (desirable)
• Knowledge of H&S legislation as well as CDM Regulation
• Water Industry Experience
• Understanding of NEC contracts
• Full UK Drivers Licence
