Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale ground-mounted solar projects in Milton Keynes. The role requires on-site work at least 3 days per week, with a 9-month minimum contract and a pay rate of £70 per hour outside IR35.

You will coordinate site activities, review drawings, and ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout construction to completion. Key responsibilities include liaising with contractors, setting out, surveying, and maintaining records

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience on ground-mounted solar farms or large-scale renewable projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Setting out and surveying experience and capability with CAD/technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of large-scale ground-mounted solar projects through construction and completion.
• Coordinate day-to-day site activities and project requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.

• Track progress against the project programme.

• Support the Project Manager with project delivery and site coordination.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

• Experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar
• Experience working on ground-mounted solar farms or large-scale renewable projects
• Good understanding of construction and site delivery
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with setting out and surveying
• Comfortable working with CAD and technical documentation
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Able to work on site in Milton Keynes at least 3 days per week

DESIRABLE

• Experience on large-scale solar projects, ideally 30MW+
• Renewable energy or electrical infrastructure experience
• SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH or similar H&S qualification
• Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
• Experience supporting projects through construction to completion
