We are looking for a
Project Engineer
with a main responsibility in Design, Installation, Commissioning and Support of Ship Traffic Control systems.

This position is a permanent opportunity, and its location is in UK.
As a Project Engineer, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Performing the System Design - development of technical part of tender proposal and system documentation, including:
- Technical analysis of tender requirements or RFQ.
- Selection of third-party equipment and subsystems.
- Preparation of hardware and software Scope of Supply.
- Subsystems performance calculations.
- Preparation of system Technical Description.
- Preparation of block, connection and wiring diagrams.
- Site design - preparation of equipment layout drawings; sketches of equipment room, shelter, mast/tower; operator room, console etc.
- Preparation of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures.
- Interact with customer to interpret their needs and requirements.
- Performing the System Installation and Commissioning, including:
- Preparation of civil works specifications and installation requirements for subcontractors.
- Execution of Site Survey.
- System assembling and configuration at workbench, execution of FAT; acceptance of third-party equipment at the factory.
- Supervision of civil and installation works performed by subcontractors.
- Execution of SAT.
- Training of customer engineers.
- Ensure the relevance of the project’s as-build documentation archive.
- Support other teams (Customer Support, Academy, R&D) with the following tasks:
- Preparation of technical requirements and specifications for upgrading of Wartsila software and dedicated HW products.
- Confirmation of third-party product performance by conducting tests on company’s workbench.
- Providing of scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Providing of corrective maintenance, repair and technical support upon request from first-line support.
The key requirements, skills and qualifications needed to succeed in the position we expect from you:
- Higher technical education.
- Base knowledge of:
- radiocommunication, microwave and radar equipment,
- electrical engineering,
- telecommunication networks and LAN administration,
- reading/creating construction drawings and radio-engineering circuits,
- executing of design documentation.
- Knowledge of graphic software (AutoCAD, MS Visio or analogous).
- Radio-electronic repair skills and good knowledge of measurement tools (SWR meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
- Ability and willing to travel around the world up to 50% of time.
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Please be prepared to travel globally approximately 50%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
