Job description
Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of critical project work, overseeing fabrication at suppliers through to on-site installation. This position requires close coordination between fabrication facilities, project sites, and head office, ensuring timely progress, quality standards, and accurate reporting across all stages of delivery.

Who This Job Would Suit

This role would suit someone with a strong background in construction, manufacturing, or QA/QC, ideally with experience in the nuclear or defence sector. The ideal candidate will be confident liaising across multiple stakeholders, adept at managing progress, and committed to ensuring quality and compliance throughout all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project delivery by overseeing fabrication of small to medium steel fabrications including walkways, platforms, aperture plates, frames, and impact barriers etc.
  • Monitor and expedite progress at supplier and site locations, reporting back to head office.
  • Coordinate between fabricators, on-site teams, and internal project management.
  • Collate and maintain quality documentation in line with industry Nuclear/Defence standards.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and testing on site.
  • Utilise online contract management systems such as CEMAR to manage NEC based Contracts.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in Nuclear, Defence, Construction or relevant Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of NEC based Contracts
  • Experience with CEMAR highly advantageous
  • Willingness to travel between sites UK wide.
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance (British or 5+ years in the UK).
Location

Bury + Travel UK wide.

Salary & Terms
  • Permanent: up to £50k
  • Contract: £35 - £40 per hour LTD (subject to CEST test IR35 assessment) + Car allowance + Mileage.
Working Hours

Monday – Friday, 39 hours per week.
