Job summary

Echelon Engineers is recruiting a Project Engineer to join the Aberdeen-based team, handling full lifecycle engineering for hydraulic tooling and offshore equipment across international projects.

The role involves 2D/3D design in AutoCAD and Inventor, FATs, vendor coordination, and installation procedures. Candidate should have mechanical engineering qualifications and be hands-on with workshop tasks and field work.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Confident using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with hydraulic systems, offshore equipment, subsea tooling or lifting and rigging would be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Producing 2D designs and 3D models of compact hydraulic tooling in AutoCAD and Inventor
• Working closely with analysis engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose
• Creating fabrication and coating drawings and issuing them to vendors
• Sourcing and managing vendors and suppliers within budget
• Building new tools and carrying out Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
• Writing installation procedures, rigging drawings, P&IDs, risk assessments and troubleshooting checklists
• Inspecting and function testing hydraulic equipment, and preparing it for offshore load‑out
• Supporting client meetings and equipment demonstrations

Echelon Engineers is recruiting on behalf of a client, an established Aberdeen-based engineering company that designs, builds and installs specialist hydraulic tooling and equipment for offshore oil and gas and renewables projects worldwide. They are now looking for a Project Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is a hands‑on role covering the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to fabrication, testing and support for offshore installation. It’s a strong opportunity for an engineer who enjoys seeing their designs built, tested and deployed.

The Role
