Role Overview

Manage the project and programme management service across complex university, wider education, and cultural commissions. Roles at this level will direct and manage the delivery of complex projects, managing relationships with senior stakeholders, and providing leadership to project teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure all work and outputs meet business plans and goals.
2. Lead an operational team, setting objectives, managing performance, and ensuring staff have the necessary skills.
3. Translate business objectives into operational financial targets, produce business cases, plans, and schedules, and meet profit and budget targets.
4. Spearhead the implementation of complex projects, managing multidisciplinary teams to meet delivery standards.
5. Monitor and review team performance and behaviour, ensuring compliance with policies and codes of conduct.
6. Ensure compliance with contracts regarding project delivery parameters and scope.
7. Review complex data to identify impacts on project delivery and advise stakeholders accordingly.
8. Develop and implement project management processes and policies.
9. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to improve efficiencies and collaboration.
10. Provide strategic advice as a technical expert to support successful project delivery.
11. Manage relationships with client stakeholders to ensure alignment and informed progress updates.
12. Accountable for delivering projects typically exceeding £10m within budget.
13. Establish project delivery plans and control mechanisms.
14. Oversee performance management of multiple projects, engaging with senior management and project managers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience managing complex projects.
• Ability to motivate and manage teams.
• Expertise in project management within your area of specialization.
• Experience managing relationships at the executive level.
• Relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
