Capstone Recruitment UK in London is seeking a consultancy Project Manager ready to move into a Project Director role within its London team. You will lead a four-person team and manage opportunities from first client conversation through to project completion.

The role focuses on developing relationships, leading bids and winning work, while overseeing projects and maintaining client relationships throughout delivery.

An opportunity for a consultancy Project Manager to move into a commercially focused leadership role

An established workplace design-and-build business is looking for a consultancy Project Manager ready to step into a Project Director role within its London team.

This opportunity would suit someone with commercial workplace or fit-out experience who enjoys building client relationships, brings a strong property network and wants greater involvement in pitching, winning work and growing a business.

Reporting directly to the London Managing Director, you will lead a team of four and take ownership of opportunities from the first client conversation through to project completion. You will receive close support from the Managing Director as you make the transition.

The role

The main focus is developing relationships, leading bids and winning work, alongside overseeing projects and maintaining client relationships throughout delivery.

Responsibilities will include:

• Developing opportunities through your existing network and new market relationships.
• Leading pitches alongside design, pre-construction and delivery colleagues.
• Using your consultancy experience to understand client priorities and shape compelling proposals.
• Managing client relationships from initial engagement through to completion.
• Leading and supporting a team of four.
• Building repeat business and referrals through strong service and delivery.

About you

You will currently work within a multidisciplinary property consultancy or client side, with experience delivering commercial office fit-out or workplace projects.

You do not need to hold a Project Director title already. The priority is your client credibility, commercial judgement, network and potential to grow into the role.

You should bring:

• An established network across clients, occupiers, agents or property advisers.
• Confidence presenting ideas, building relationships and influencing decisions.
• An interest in business development, bids and winning work.
• A practical, creative approach to solving problems.
• The ambition to lead a team and take ownership of a growing portfolio.

Previous responsibility for a sales target is less important than your ability to build trust, recognise opportunities and develop relationships into work.

Support and progression

You will work closely with the London Managing Director, who will support introductions, pitches and business development. The business offers an established design and delivery team, giving you the backing to develop your commercial leadership skills and make the move from consultancy PM into a Project Director position.
