Job description

Join Our Growing Team at Harmony Fire – Help Us Make Every Home Safer!

Since 2017, Harmony Fire has rapidly become one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, ranking as the 72nd fastest-growing company in the region. But we’re not stopping there. We’re on a mission to grow even further, knowing that the more we grow, the greater the impact we can have — from reaching more people and increasing our social impact to offering more opportunities for our talented team.

We’re passionate about making a difference, and we’re obsessed with delivering the highest quality in everything we do. Our goal is simple: we want every resident to feel safe at night, knowing their home is 100% compliant and protected. By providing exceptional service, upholding our values, and going above and beyond, we can achieve our vision of making the UK safer, one home at a time.

We have expanded in Edinburgh and are looking for a driven, ambitious and skilled Project Director to lead multiple high value projects in the area

What We Look For

At Harmony Fire, we value people who embody our core principles:

  • Athletes Grit – Unwavering determination and resilience. You push yourself to go the extra mile, even when challenges arise.
  • Captains Duty – Leadership is about taking ownership, fulfilling commitments, and acting with integrity. We expect all team members to lead by example.
  • Fun-Loving Heart – We believe work should be positive and supportive. You help create a great atmosphere by caring for others, spreading positive energy, and enjoying the work you do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Delivery of Projects
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget through effective valuations, revenue forecasting, and managing handovers
  • Ensure budgets cover all works, control expenditure (prelims, labour, subcontractors, suppliers), monitor costs, protect gross profit, own purchasing decisions, and approve payment applications
  • Identify and resolve client variations promptly
  • Outstanding Customer Experience
  • Ensure the “Harmony experience” is delivered through excellent communication, building strong client relationships, and addressing issues quickly
  • Make sure teams and subcontractors deliver to both client and Harmony’s expectations
  • People Management
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and induction
  • Keep the team engaged and productive; manage training, progression, performance, and the effective utilisation of direct labour
  • Quality Control
  • Ensure works are certifiable, compliant, and meet exceptional standards
  • Conduct regular spot checks and site audits, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest quality and fully certified at completion
  • Process Management
  • Ensure adherence to all statutory and Harmony processes and procedures across the team
  • Able to manage multiple projects at different phases of development
  • Health and Safety
  • Implement and uphold Harmony’s H&S policy, ensuring safe work practices through induction, training, and audits
  • External Supplier Management
  • Manage costings, material procurement, and subcontractor sourcing as needed
  • Communication Management
  • Maintain clarity in communication with clients, the Pre-Construction team, and the supply chain, clearly setting expectations and tracking progress
  • Manage the delivery relationship with the client throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications / Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in construction project management
  • Proven track record running multiple projects to time and on budget
  • BM Trada qualification (desirable)
  • Excellent planning, budgeting, and prioritisation skills
  • First-class written and verbal communication skills
  • A background in Fire Safety or Main Contracting

Why Harmony Fire?

  • A collaborative and supportive environment where you can grow and advance your career
  • Tools and resources to help you perform at your best
  • Opportunities to learn from top professionals eager to share knowledge and expertise
  • A bespoke Personal Development Plan for every employee
  • Ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to keep you developing
  • Modern, spacious workspaces equipped with state-of-the-art facilities

What We Offer

  • Lunch, snacks, and refreshments — including fresh fruit and ‘Take Away Friday’
  • Unlimited holiday provision
  • Bonus scheme — earn up to 50% of your annual salary based on performance
  • Team socialising budget
  • Family-friendly policies — including enhanced maternity and paternity leave
