Job summary

VolkerWessels is seeking an experienced highways professional to advance growth and lead major operational delivery. You will drive mobilisation, manage senior client engagements and oversee teams across highways maintenance frameworks.

The role requires a commercially minded leader with a track record in bid management, mobilisation and risk-aware delivery, aligning project outcomes with tender commitments and client expectations.

Qualifications

Experience in highways maintenance, infrastructure or civil engineering.
Strong background in bids or pre-construction.
Ability to build trusted client relationships and spot opportunities.
Experience taking frameworks from bid through mobilisation into delivery.

Responsibilities

Our specialist in-house traffic management division provides expert advice and support across the industry, whilst assisting with our own, in-house contracts. work-winning and pre-construction, you will help shape practical, efficient, deliverable solutions, ensuring what we commit to during the tender process translates into successful VolkerHighways is looking for an experienced highways professional who is ready to take the next step and help shape the future growth of our business. You could already be operating at a management level within a major highways maintenance contract or framework, with responsibility for significant areas of operational delivery and a strong relationship with the client. You understand what successful mobilisation and delivery looks like and are now ready to take on greater leadership responsibility.

You will be a commercially minded highways or civil engineering leader with:

Experience in highways maintenance, infrastructure or civil engineering.
A strong background in business development, bids or pre-construction.
The ability to build trusted client relationships and spot future opportunities.
Experience taking frameworks from bid through mobilisation into delivery.
Strong commercial, operational and risk-management awareness.
Credibility when presenting to clients and leading senior stakeholder discussions.
A track record of building and developing successful teams.
